The Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness hosted an Activate Academy reunion on Wednesday June 16th, at the FMU Carter Center for Health Sciences in downtown Florence.
All of the students in attendance were rising High School seniors, and the FMU Admissions Director Douglas Brady spoke regarding choosing colleges, applying for college, and applying for financial aid. Then they spent time with Marcus Amaker, author, musician, graphic artist, and Charleston SC’s first Poet Laureate. Marcus has published 8 books, released 33 albums of electronic music, and two albums with a Grammy award winner. After lunch, they were treated to a fun activity at The DIY Place in downtown Florence.
