This year, the Center will say goodbye to Dr. Meredith Love, Professor of English, who wrote the original grant for the Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness with Dr. Matt Nelson. Over the last eight years, Meredith has taught graduate courses in readiness for South Carolina educators (including teachers, counselors, and career development facilitators), led dozens of workshops on project based learning, planned Activate Academy (a summer program for rising ninth-graders), and created professional development opportunities for teachers across grade levels. Meredith will be going back to work full time in English Department where she teaches courses in composition, professional writing, writing for teachers, women’s studies, and African American rhetoric.
