The CCR Conference: Readiness and the Report Card was held on August 6, 2019, at Francis Marion University. This one day workshop featured keynote speeches and break out sessions designed to help school administrators and teachers create a plan to improve post-secondary success for their students.

Two breakout sessions were then offered. Cinthia Byrd-Johnson, Chief of Accountability and Administration with Calhoun County Public Schools, discussed preparing students to be college and career ready, and Patty Reid, Fairfield Career and Technology Center spoke about soft skills.
After lunch, Kyra I. March, rising sophomore at Harvard College and from Darlington, SC, delivered a speech titled “It Takes A Village”. Afternoon sessions included Ayesha Hunter from Bates Middle School in Sumter, SC, sharing her school’s journey to STEM, and Sonya Addison-Stewart, the Academic Coordinator for the Berkeley County Office of Career and Technical Communication, speaking about upgrading career fairs into career conferences.
The day ended with Dr. Meredith Love, Co-Director of the Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness. She shared ways to create an action plan for college and career readiness in each school.
