We are pleased to announce that Activate Academy will be returning this summer to the campus of Francis Marion University!
The Activate Academy is a three day, two night event for rising ninth graders. Sponsored by Francis Marion University and The Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness, and designed by local middle school and high school teachers, the Activate Academy will help these students to
- Learn about success strategies to help them in high school
- Explore career possibilities
- Receive hands-on instruction in subjects such as science and the arts
- Participate in workshops on goal setting and study skills
This year’s Activate Academy will be held from Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 15. Students spend the days with teachers and FMU faculty and the nights in the student dorms on campus, with specially-trained Resident Assistants. There is NO COST to participants; nominations for Activate Academy are made by the guidance counselors, and it is open to schools in Florence district 1, 2, 3, and 4. For more information, please call Judy Norris or Matt Nelson at 843-661-1392, or email us at readiness@fmarion.edu.
