Dr. Matthew Nelson is a Professor of English at Francis Marion University. Matt has served as Co-Director of Swamp Fox Writing Project and President of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of English. He currently teaches both first year and advanced composition courses as well as methods and clinical courses for secondary education students. Dr. Nelson has been with the Center since its inception in 2014.
Dr. Polly G. Haselden is a Professor of Education at Francis Marion University who serves as the Co-Director of Teacher Cadets for Region 4 in South Carolina. In this role, she provides professional support to Teacher Cadet Classrooms and promotes opportunities for high school juniors and seniors to receive college credit in conjunction with CERRA. In addition, she has presented and facilitated workshops locally and nationally in the areas of learning disabilities, reading, and project based learning. Dr. Haselden teaches upper level literacy in the content areas and special education courses. She joined the Center in 2022.
Mrs. Judy Norris has served as Administrative Assistant for the center since 2015. Judy graduated from Francis Marion University in 1994 with a Business of Bachelor Administration in Accounting, and worked in the real estate industry as a bookkeeper, office manager, and accounting manager, before coming to work at the Center.
