The Center of Excellence for College and Career Readiness held its first face-to-face professional development in a year and a half, with the P20 Summit, on Friday, October 15th.
The summit, attended by teachers, guidance counselors, career counselors, and administrators, featured discussions about the fundamentals of college and career readiness in our state. Working within the framework of author David Conley’s “Four Keys of College and Career Readiness” and the “Portrait of the South Carolina Graduate,” participants worked together to develop action plans to improve readiness on our campuses.
The P20 Summit is a yearly professional development workshop provided by the Center to allow educators to come together to discuss the latest research on improving college and career readiness in South Carolina schools. Prior summit topics include connecting with students online, fostering soft skills, and creating and sustaining community partnerships.
